Deer Park Real Estate
Incorporated as a city in 1952, Deer Park has a long history. In 1788, developer John Cleves Symmes purchased a large portion of land, including surrounding neighborhoods, for the purpose of reselling and development. Deer Park saw its first brick home built in 1806 and the construction of Saint John the Evangelist church in 1891, which still maintains a congregation, but now in a modern building. Deer Park was incorporated as a village with less than 350 residents in 1912, and between the years 1930 and 1952, land was annexed on to the city. The following year, Deer Park became a township.
Now, this square-mile residential neighborhood of tree-line streets is home to 5,982 people. Small businesses are scattered throughout the cozy community, and visitors find all they need within a short drive. A plaza-style shopping center includes a grocery and library, and, for more serious shopping, the Kenwood Towne Center is five minutes away. Also very close is Jewish Hospital and Bethesda North hospital.
A well-maintained municipal park with baseball diamonds and a play area features organized games, sports and crafts. Professional hockey, soccer and other entertainment can be seen at nearby Cincinnati Gardens, and one of Cincinnati’s best parks, Sharon Woods is also close by.
Just as its neighbor, Kenwood, Deer Park is situated between two major highways, I75 and I71, making for easy access for travelers and commuters. Only 14 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, Deer Park is approximately a half-hour drive, and buses offer another commuting option.
