Madeira Real Estate

The area now known as Madeira was first settled in 1787 by Daniel Bates. By 1796, a number of new settlers arrived and early surveyors placed Madeira on the map of the Northwest Territory.  During the American Civil War, a Confederate cavalry of 2,000 soldiers, led by John Hunt Morgan swept through Ohio causing disorder within the Union military. History reports that in 1863, Morgan’s Raiders spreading fear among Madeira’s early settlers, riding through the settlement, taking horses, food, supplies and bridles.

Today, this northeast community is just 12 miles from downtown Cincinnati. Madeira has been consistently ranked as a top national school and as one of the best places to raise children. This delightful neighborhood has a hometown feel with a charming setting complemented by a high quality of life. There is a small, vibrant business district where residents and visitors enjoy shopping and dining. Housing is primarily single-family with a wide range of pricing and styles.
