Montgomery and Symmes Township Real Estate
Part of the Greater Cincinnati area, Montgomery was founded in 1795 by six New York families. While growth was slow-going at first, this area came to be known as the stopping point of the three-C’s—Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. By 1950, there were 500 residents in Montgomery, and 20 years later the number had grown to 5,000. Currently, there are twice that many inhabitants. And children benefit from the area’s nationally recognized school system.
Visitors to Montgomery will find a sophisticated, clean area with plenty of opportunities for dining and shopping, as well as recreation. In the Heritage District, there are more than 120 restaurants and stores. Montgomery lays claim to 33 landmarks and eight buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are nearly 100 acres of protected green space, and the Johnson Nature Preserve and several parks in the area feature engaging programs and classes.
Symmes Township is one of the 12 townships that make up Hamilton County, and is located in the far north-east corner of the county. This premier residential community was formed in 1824 by Scotch-Irish and German immigrants, and the area still maintains a proud heritage.
Attractive features of the neighborhood are many, and include lovely parks and recreational facilities, including Camp Dennison Nature Trail, a limestone-based hiking trail. Also in the area are the awe-inspiring Loveland Castle, and Lake Isabella with plenty of sights for the family.
